There is a reason we check your brake fluid when you come in for a service check.  Maintenance pays big dividends and we want to avoid high repair costs for our Mantua drivers.  Did you know that brake service isn't just all about the brake pads, drums & rotors?  That we have found low brake fluid to be the cause of a large percentage of brake issues here at Van Meter Auto Repair?  Seriously, brake fluid is an important part of your braking system and with your service intervals being less frequent on the newer vehicles 5,000-10,000 more miles this has become an issue!  Why?...

All brake fluid attracts moisture, which can cause the fluid to break down and perform poorly, particularly in emergency braking situations. Poor maintenance can lead to contaminated fluid, corroded parts and increased stopping distance.  If not specified by the owner’s manual, we suggest flushing the systems and replacing with new brake fluid every two years at the minimum and we check that brake fluid when you come in for service!

We realize that most drivers do not open their owner's manuals or check their tires only scheduling service when their dash light indicates it is time for an oil change!  It is the nature of their busy schedules and happy lives!  It is why we work hard to ensure we help where we can and when we can with looking at the entire system when you do come in for an oil change, brake check or when you hear something different while driving.
